“I couldn’t sing, I couldn’t dance, I couldn’t draw. I kind of wanted to come up with my own unique style of how I wanted to be known.” -Norris Williford
How does it feel to see students and individuals around campus wearing clothing from your brand?
“I feel great when I see students all around campus rocking our stuff rocking our gear, it feels good to know that our brand has expanded and we’re able to keep these prices so affordable for these college students to be able to look fly so it’s definitely a feeling of gratitude,” replied Norris Williford.

Her Gifted Gab says…
Discovering the niche that suits you can be challenging. During the telling of this story, I observed sentiments expressed that I'm certain resonate with many, myself included. What I find commendable is that not only did Norris Williford embark on his journey a decade ago as a child, but he continues to actively pursue a college education and is set to graduate in the spring of 2024. His business is actively thriving in his city while being in the heart of the VCU campus where he’s able to receive an abundance of support. Inspirational boss moves! From “Basic” hoodies, totes, and sweatpants, Williford has turned “Basic” into a movement. In my sophomore year of college, I bought a "Basic" tee and Jordans for an affordable price at MBM Kicks. Come to find out, other resellers are now selling those same sneakers for double the price. Now, as a senior public relations student immersing myself in my brand, I get to come back to the store with an elevated perspective and make sense of the core of MBM. I appreciate this full circle moment because I can attest to having shown support before and can vouch for Norris Williford as a business owner to say he’s legit, inside and out.
