An Extended Conversation with the Cast of ‘Cain or Abel’
A few months after the release of the film “Cain or Abel" Norlian Lambe (Bryce), Jean Emtcheu (Mace), and Josh Omobhude (Nell) gathered for a follow-up discussion. The trio reflected on the film's production, the support received from the DMV community, and the challenges faced.

Merging their creative visions, Norlian Lambe and Jean Emtcheu directed and starred in the film "Cain or Abel," the first film to emerge from PG County, MD. Originally, Lambe’s concept envisioned two individuals living opposite lives eventually binding while Emtcheu’s idea aimed to narrate a modern version of biblical stories. Together, they produced and scripted this film that revolves around two brothers being challenged by their love for basketball, street life, and family dynamics.
The blend of each character was seamlessly portrayed including the actors who played Dom and Reggie, who unfortunately couldn’t join the discussion. Still, the trio of Lambe, Emtcheu, and Omobhude managed to bring the essence of the atmosphere of what I imagined was cultivated throughout the filming process.

What attracted me to reach out about “Cain or Abel” was my familiarity with the biblical story which made me curious to see what perspective would be portrayed by these directors and actors. The true story here is how these young men are paving the way for their peers and audience to take an interest and/or be involved in the arts community. During the interview, it was mentioned that this project was not only for themselves but for the DMV community, to present that ideas like this are possible. That factor alone resonates with me and the passion I bring to HerGiftedGab. The feature stories I write from my interviews consistently remind me that we’re all striving to go forth in our paths making a name for ourselves.
